Four women have been arrested following a Waterloo Police Department investigation into an alleged assault that occurred outside a local business earlier this month.
Police said the incident took place on June 2. Investigators allege that four women waited outside the victim’s workplace and approached her in the business parking lot after she finished work.
According to police, a physical altercation followed, during which the suspects allegedly struck the victim in the head multiple times and attempted to cause physical injury.
Arrested in connection with the incident were 20-year-old Lamyjah Fowler of Geneva, 19-year-old Robyn Ortiz of Geneva, 21-year-old Layla Estrada of Geneva, and 22-year-old Ayana Hall of Sodus.
All four were charged with Attempted Gang Assault in the Second Degree, Menacing in the Third Degree, Conspiracy in the Fifth Degree, and Disorderly Conduct.
Fowler was additionally charged with Stalking in the Third Degree.
The four women were transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility for arraignment and were later released. Police said orders of protection were requested on behalf of the victim.
The charges are accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
