A Bath man is facing charges after police say he threatened a neighbor during a dispute over barking dogs.
According to the Village of Bath Police Department, officers were called to a home on Shannon Street around 7 a.m. on Sunday for a reported neighbor dispute. Police say it was reported that a man had threatened to shoot his neighbors because their dogs were barking.
Officers quickly located the suspect, identified as 70-year-old Rory Speer, and took him into custody without incident.
Speer has been charged with one count of third-degree menacing, a Class B misdemeanor.
He was processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail for arraignment in centralized arraignment court. Police say he was released before being booked into jail in accordance with New York State bail reform laws.
The charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
