Kathy Hochul and her husband reported a combined income of more than $1.86 million last year, a significant increase from the roughly $1.5 million they reported the year before, according to newly released tax filings.

Most of the couple’s income came from her husband, William Hochul, who earned about $1.3 million working at a law firm. The governor reported a salary of $250,000.

The filings show the couple paid approximately $775,000 in combined federal, state, and New York City taxes. They also reported more than $78,000 in charitable donations to various organizations.

While the couple lists Buffalo as their primary residence, the returns indicate they spent the full year living in New York City, making them subject to city income taxes.

The disclosures also detail a range of financial holdings, including investments in foreign companies and assets held in a family trust.

The release of the tax returns comes as Hochul prepares for a reelection campaign in 2026. Her Republican challenger, Bruce Blakeman, has not yet released his own tax filings but has said he plans to do so.

New York governors traditionally release their tax returns annually around the tax filing deadline, offering a public look at their personal finances.
