A popular Central New York fundraiser made a successful return this year after a seven-year absence, raising more than $10,000 to support local cancer patients.

The CNY Mom Prom, often described as a “Mom’s Night Out,” brought together more than 200 women for an evening of dancing, celebration, and philanthropy. The event raised $10,205.38 for the Oneida Health Cancer Care Fund, which provides assistance to patients receiving cancer treatment in the community.

Held in partnership with the Oneida Health Foundation, the event was organized by CNY Mom Prom founders Allison Ingmire, Monica Walts, and Lori Sherwood, who revived the event after its lengthy hiatus.

“After seven years, the energy in the room felt like there was never a pause,” the founders said in a statement. “The support, connection, and care we experienced were exactly what we remembered and so much more.”

Organizers said the money raised will help local cancer patients by easing some of the financial burdens associated with treatment and ensuring access to critical services close to home.

The evening featured the signature elements that made the event popular before its hiatus, including formal attire, dancing, and opportunities for participants to connect while supporting a charitable cause.

Beyond the fundraising total, organizers said the event highlighted the generosity and compassion of the community, with attendees embracing the spirit of giving back while enjoying a memorable night out.

The successful return of the fundraiser has renewed support for the Oneida Health Cancer Care Fund and its mission of assisting local patients and families facing cancer diagnoses.
