The Town of Geneva Planning Board will take up two major projects when it meets on Tuesday.

Under old business, board members will continue their review of a proposed solar farm on County Road 6. The project, submitted by Geneva PV, LLC, calls for a 2.47-megawatt ground-mounted solar photovoltaic system on property owned by David and Rebecca Patrick.

The proposal requires site plan approval under the town’s zoning code, which governs large-scale solar energy systems and commercial development. The board is expected to hear a presentation from the applicant, along with comments from the town’s code enforcement officer and engineer, before discussing the project and determining next steps.

Under new business, the board will review a proposal for a large manure storage facility, also on County Road 6. The project, submitted by Jeff Dann Farms on behalf of Nedrow Farms LLC, involves the construction of a 3-million-gallon earthen manure storage system.

That proposal also requires site plan approval and review by the planning board, building department, and town engineer. As part of the process, the applicant will present the project, followed by input from town officials and county planning representative Steve High. The board may decide to set a public hearing on the proposal.

In addition to project reviews, the planning board will consider approval of minutes from its March 17 meeting and hear a report from county planning.
