DEVELOPING: Search Underway After Reported Drowning in Little Sodus Bay

Emergency crews are searching for a possible drowning victim in Little Sodus Bay at Fair Haven State Park.

According to New York State Police, troopers were called to the state park in the Village of Fair Haven, Cayuga County, at approximately 3:30 p.m. on following a report of a drowning.

A large multi-agency search is underway involving the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol, Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol, Fair Haven Fire Department’s boat team, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the New York State Police Underwater Recovery Team. Members of the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation are also assisting at the scene.

Authorities have not released any information about the person involved or the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The investigation remains active. State Police said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
