SHARE NOW

A Syracuse man faces five years in prison after pleading guilty in Cayuga County Court to a felony charge of attempted criminal possession of a controlled substance.

On May 9th, Paul Bovee was a passenger in a car that was stopped for a traffic violation in the city of Auburn. Bovee had a backpack with him in the car. In the backpack, police found over an ounce of cocaine.

When Bovee is sentenced on February 13th, he faces a five-year determinate prison sentence followed by 1.5 years of post-release supervision as a second felony offender. The sentence will run consecutively to a sentence Bovee is currently serving for threatening Auburn police officers with a knife in 2020

Bovee entered the plea before the Honorable Thomas G. Leone.
