Wolcott Man Arrested Following Disturbance Investigation

A Town of Wolcott man faces felony and misdemeanor charges following a sheriff’s office investigation into a disturbance that occurred last month.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested 36-year-old Cory Chase early Thursday morning. The arrest stems from an incident that initially occurred on May 5.

Authorities allege that Chase entered a local residence, caused more than $1,500 in property damage, and stole items from the home. Chase is also accused of threatening the use of a weapon to take items by force during the encounter.

Chase has been charged with Attempted Robbery in the First Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, Menacing in the Second Degree, and two counts of Petit Larceny.

He was transported to the Wayne County Jail to await centralized arraignment.

 

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
