Motorists in the Town of Canandaigua are being advised to plan alternate routes as work continues on the North Road reconstruction project.

Town officials announced that beginning Monday, North Road will be closed to all traffic between Cayuga Street and East Street for approximately two weeks. During the closure, crews will remove the existing roadway and install a new road surface.

Additional phases of the project are scheduled throughout July.

According to the town, concrete curbs and sidewalks are expected to be installed between July 6 and July 13. Following that work, crews will install the road’s stone base and pave the roadway with asphalt between July 13 and July 26.

Town officials are encouraging residents and motorists to avoid North Road during construction and use alternate routes whenever possible to reduce delays and congestion.

The reconstruction project is part of ongoing efforts to improve road infrastructure in the area. Further updates will be provided as work progresses.
