A Canandaigua man faces several felony charges following a domestic incident at a Creekview Drive residence.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office arrested 31-year-old Leondis Caver on Saturday after deputies investigated a dispute at a home in the Town of Canandaigua.
Investigators allege Caver strangled his girlfriend and damaged a television and toilet inside the residence.
Deputies said Caver physically resisted while being detained and punched a deputy in the right side of the head with a closed fist, causing substantial pain.
Caver was charged with second-degree assault, second-degree strangulation, third-degree criminal mischief, aggravated family offense and obstructing governmental administration.
He was taken to the Ontario County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Canandaigua Town Court at a later date.
The charges are accusations, and Caver is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
