Frederick R. Grobelny, 67, of Bradley Street, Genoa, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013. Fred was born Aug. 25, 1945 in Auburn, a son of the late Harley and Jennie (Evans) Grobelny. Fred is survived by Beverly Grobelny, of Moravia and Carol Sawyer, of Genoa and their children, Darnell (Gary) Nye, Darrick (Jackalyn) Grobelny, Devon (Christine) Grobelny, Justin and Cody Anderson, and James Sawyer. Fred is also survived by his sisters, Mary Follett, of Houston, Texas, and Barbara (Sid) Stevens, of Scipio Center; brother, Howard (Barb) Grobelny, of Cortland, as well as 15 grandchildren. Fred was predeceased by his grandson, Terry Grobelny; sisters, Sue Famoly, Ann Matijas, and Linda Ackles. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at the Shurtleff Funeral Home, 10117 Route 90, Genoa. Services will be private.
