Waterloo - Jane DiJohn, 96, passed away peacefully, Saturday (February 2, 2013) at Geneva general hospital with her family by her side.
Friends and family are invited to call Tuesday (February 5), from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Mull Funeral Home Inc., 113 Virginia Street Waterloo. A Funeral Mass will be Wednesday (February 6) at noon in Saint Mary's Church, Waterloo. Burial will follow in Saint Mary's Cemetery.
Jane requested memorial contribution be directed to Saint Mary's Church, 25 Center Street, Waterloo NY 13165.
She was born in Waterloo, N.Y. on January 2, 1917, the daughter of the late Berardo C. and Christine Gassbarro-Simboli. She was a cafeteria worker at the Waterloo High School as well as working beside her husband Victor at DiJohn's Gulf Station in Waterloo. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court Theresa #806 and volunteered at the Huntington Living Center.
Jane is survived by her sons, Stephen of Texas and Victor (Joan) Jr. of Ohio; her grandson, Nathan (Devryn) DiJohn; great-grandchildren, Sofia and Dana DiJohn; her sister, Lillian B. Wantuck of Waterloo; a very special friend and neighbor Kathy Peters; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Victor S. DiJohn; her sister, Laura Marie Manfredi; and brother Patrick Simboli.
