Gerald W. "Jake" VanBuren, 95, of Penn Yan, passed away on Sunday (January 13, 2013) with his loving family by his side.
A graveside service with military honors will be held in the spring.
Memorial donations may be made to Yates County Humane Society - Shelter of Hope.
Jake was born on November 25, 1917 in Troy, Penn., and was the son of the late Harry and Charlotte VanBuren. Jake was always happy, loved to tell jokes and his grandchildren were the light of his life!
He was a World War II Veteran, former Prisoner of War and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
Jake was survived by his children, Craig VanBuren of Penn Yan and Chris (Kurt) Kubli of Canandaigua; and two grandchildren, KC Kubli and Kara Kubli.
