GENEVA – Mary L. Kaim, 86, of Geneva, passed away peacefully on Tuesday (November 27, 2012) at her lifelong home surrounded by her family.
Friends and family may call on Friday (November 30) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home. 181 N. Main St. Funeral Services will be at 9 a.m. on Saturday (December 1) in the funeral home and a Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. in St. Francis de Sales Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Mary was born April 23, 1926 in Geneva, N.Y. to the late Samuel and Louise Moran Caito. Mary attended St. Francis de Sales Grammar School and Geneva High School. She was employed at Sterns Nursery in the office of the Catalog Department where she worked in sales and was also a Model in the Nursery Catalog. She was employed in the accounting department of Shuron Optical; later she worked at the Seneca Army Depot as a clerk. During the 1950's she was employed at Sylvania Electric in Seneca Falls. After raising her son she worked for the Caito Travel Bureau and Sam Caito Trucking. Mary was the winner of the Italian-American Beauty Contest in the early 1950's. Mary loved music and loved dancing. Mary loved her family and took care of five generations from grandparents to her great-grandchild. She will be sadly missed by all whose hearts she touched.
Mary is survived by her son, Jamie (Mary) Kaim of Geneva, grandson Jamie, (Jill) Kaim Jr. of Geneva and Anthony Kaim of Waterloo; great-granddaughter, Maria Kaim of Geneva; brothers, Patrick L. Caito and Samuel (Sharon), Caito Jr. both of Geneva; nephew, Samuel (Jennifer) Caito III, of Nashville, Tenn.; nieces, Paula (Frank) Caito-Capozzi and Sharon Ann Caito both of Geneva; great niece, Annabel Capozzi and baby Capozzi; former daughter-in-law Bonita (Paul) Hughes of Waterloo and many cousins.
Mary was predeceased by her father, Samuel W. Caito Sr. in 1968;
brother, James W. Caito in 1996; mother, Louise M. Caito in 1996; and former husband Edward T. Kaim in April of 2012.
