Newark - Geraldine Blankenberg, 90, entered eternity on Saturday, (November 24, 2012) at her son's home with her loving family by her side.
Family and friends may call Wednesday (Nov. 28) from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St, Newark where a Funeral Service will follow calling hours at 7 p.m. Burial will be Thursday (Nov. 29) in Newark Cemetery, N. Main St. Newark at 11 a.m.

Mrs. Blankenberg was born the daughter of Cornelius and Jannette (Moose) Orbaker on Saturday, November 11, 1922 in Newark, N.Y. She attended Newark, "Washington High School." Mrs. Blankenberg worked for C.H. Stuart Co. in the packing department, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Newark VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed sitting on a beach for relaxation and held a special spot in her heart for Sodus Point. You could find Mrs. Blankenberg visiting with people and with many of her friends.
Mrs. Blankenberg will be remembered by her sons, John and James (Toni) Blankenberg; daughters, Nancy Blankenberg, Judith Blankenberg and Donna (Herman) Lunser; 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; brother, Lester Orbaker; many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Blankenberg was predeceased by her husband, John Blankenberg in 1990; grandsons, Richard Mussaw in 2008 and Michael Bassett in 1985; eleven brothers and sisters; daughter-in-law, Barb Blankenberg in 2009.
