AUBURN | Mrs. Josephine A. Murphy Applebee, 88, passed away Friday Nov. 23, 2012, at Mercy Health & Rehabilitation Center, Auburn. Josephine was born in Scipio Center, the daughter of George and Celia Golden Murphy. She was a former resident of Bostwick Avenue, Auburn, and Cato, for many years. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed with Bowen Manufacturing and Hunters Nursing Home. In earlier years she enjoyed bowling. While in Cato she was a member of St. Patrick's Church. Surviving are her sisters, Elizabeth Perkins, Aurora, and Mildred Hayes, Seneca Falls; brothers, George (Ann) Murphy, Union Springs, and Harry Murphy, Red Creek; several nieces and nephews including the Franklyn family, Barbara, Nancy, Kathleen, Lorraine and John. She was predeceased by her husband, Glenn Applebee; parents; brothers, Everett and Paul Murphy and sisters, Marion Franklyn and Louise Lollis. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at Farrell's Funeral Service, Inc., 84 South St., Auburn, with interment in St. Bernard's Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Michael's Church, Union Springs.
