Hazel G. VanTassell Hazel G. VanTassell, 82, of Canandaigua, formerly of Greene, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012. She was predeceased by her husband, Boyd VanTassell; daughter, Lorraine Beth; sister, Eleanor Costello; and brother, Ray Garrehy. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Debra and Gary Meek and Katrina Shreder; son, Kevin VanTassell; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Eloise and Charles Jones; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Jeane Garrehy; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango Street, Greene, N.Y. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.rootfh.com.
