A Frost Advisory is in effect tonight through 8 AM Friday across much of the Finger Lakes, including Schuyler, Steuben, Chemung, and Tompkins counties. The setup is textbook: high pressure centered over northern New York is pushing cold, dry air into the region, and with mostly clear skies and light winds, temperatures will drop fast after sunset. Expect lows in the lower-to-mid 30s across interior valleys — spots around Watkins Glen and Corning included. Protect sensitive plants tonight.
Tomorrow brings a brief reprieve — dry conditions and temperatures climbing a bit before the pattern shifts. But Friday night into Saturday, a low-pressure system tracking out of the Ohio Valley will drag a warm front northward, delivering widespread, soaking rain and possibly embedded thunderstorms. It looks like a wet weekend.
