A gorgeous Sunday evening is giving way to what looks like the warmest stretch of the spring so far. Lows tonight will stay mild — upper 50s across most of the region — so no frost concerns and no active alerts to worry about.
Tomorrow is the headliner. A strong mid-level ridge building along the eastern seaboard will push highs into the 85–90° range Monday afternoon, with Watkins Glen and Corning likely leading the pack. Tuesday looks nearly identical. Overnight lows Monday into Tuesday will hold in the mid-to-upper 60s — unusually warm for May. A spotty shower or thunderstorm is possible both days, but most of the region stays dry.
The pattern shifts sharply late Tuesday evening when a strong cold front sweeps through, bringing numerous showers and thunderstorms. Behind it, Wednesday through Friday turn noticeably cooler and drier. Enjoy the warmth while it lasts.
