Weather forecast for the Finger Lakes: Cool, Drizzly Night Gives Way to Warmer Friday

The gray, damp stretch continues a bit longer tonight as a closed low wobbles off toward Long Island, dragging the surface low that’s been parked near the Finger Lakes along with it. Expect mostly cloudy skies, patchy drizzle, and the occasional light shower through roughly 10–11 PM before conditions gradually quiet down. Lows will settle into the low-to-mid 40s regionwide — around 41° in Auburn, 43° in Canandaigua, Penn Yan, and Bath. No frost concerns tonight given the moisture and cloud cover, and no active NWS alerts are in effect.

Friday looks considerably more promising. As the system pulls east, drier air moves in and a warming trend kicks off. Expect increasing breaks of sunshine and noticeably milder temperatures — a welcome change after a cool, dreary stretch.

Keep the weekend on your radar: more unsettled weather is expected Saturday, with a few thunderstorms possible across the region by late in the day.
