Weather forecast for the Finger Lakes: Cold Front Brings Showers, Thunder to Finger Lakes Tonight

That cold front the region has been watching all day is pushing through tonight, and it’s bringing some attitude with it. A line of showers and embedded thunderstorms is sweeping across the Finger Lakes this evening, capable of producing gusty winds — particularly from Corning and Bath northward toward Canandaigua and Penn Yan. Light drizzle is already falling in Corning as of 6 PM, with temperatures hovering in the upper 50s regionwide under heavy overcast skies.

Overnight lows will drop into the mid-to-upper 40s across most of the region — Bath and Penn Yan touching the low-to-mid 40s by dawn. No frost threat tonight, but it will feel raw. No NWS alerts are currently active.

Thursday stays unsettled and cool, with continued shower chances and limited sunshine. Then things change: a notable warmup begins Friday, building toward summer-like heat by early next week.
