A beautiful April evening is winding down across the Finger Lakes, with temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s under clear skies from Auburn to Corning. Expect a comfortable but noticeably cool night ahead as high pressure builds in behind that departing surface low — lows will drop to the mid-to-upper 40s in most spots, with Bath and Corning potentially dipping to around 44–45°. No frost threat tonight, and no active alerts anywhere in the region.
Thursday shapes up as another fine day. High pressure slides east, keeping skies mostly clear and allowing temperatures to climb back into the upper 60s. Enjoy it — that window closes quickly.
The next system arrives Friday night, with rain and showers likely through Saturday. The Buffalo NWS office is highlighting areas south of the Thruway for the heaviest totals, with rainfall amounts of 0.50–0.75″ possible. The northern Finger Lakes may see considerably less.
