A Lyons man was arrested following the report of a suspicious condition in the Town of Lyons, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

On Saturday, deputies arrested 44-year-old Aaron Mammano for Criminal Trespass in the Third Degree. The charges stem from an initial report of a suspicious condition that originated in front of the Lyons Fire Department. Deputies made contact with Mammano, who was subsequently advised he was free to go following a brief investigation. Mammano then left the area on foot, heading southbound toward Route 31.

Shortly after the initial interaction, dispatch received another report of a suspicious condition involving an individual matching Mammano’s description in the area of Route 31 and Route 14. Deputies responded to the area and located Mammano again, where they allegedly observed him crossing southbound on the CSX railroad tracks in front of 14 Franklin Street.

Mammano was placed under arrest without incident and transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for processing. He was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Lyons Court at a later date to answer the charge.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
