An Auburn woman was arrested Thursday morning by the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office following an investigation into alleged welfare and food stamp fraud.
Audrey Oattes faces multiple charges, including Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, Welfare Fraud in the Fourth Degree, Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree, and Misuse of Food Stamps over $1,000.
Oattes is accused of filing false instruments with the intent to defraud and unlawfully obtaining welfare benefits and food stamps valued at over $1,000.
Following her arrest, she was processed and scheduled to answer the charges in Auburn City Court.
