A Town of Sennett woman has been arrested on a warrant following a domestic violence investigation that began last month.

According to Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck, deputies arrested 42-year-old Marybeth Rizzieri and charged her with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree.

The arrest stems from an incident on May 24, when deputies responded to a reported domestic dispute in the Town of Sennett. Authorities state that during a custody exchange, Rizzieri allegedly initiated an altercation in the presence of a child, causing the child to become frightened and attempt to shield themselves. Rizzieri is also accused of pushing against deputies during the investigation to prevent them from entering a patrol vehicle and leaving the property.

Following her arrest on Saturday, Rizzieri was transported to centralized arraignment court and released to appear in Sennett Town Court at a later date.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
