Yates County Tourism has been recognized with a PRism Award from the Rochester chapter of the Public Relations Society of America for its Bed & Breakfast Crawl blogger campaign, an initiative designed to showcase the county’s hospitality and unique lodging experiences.
The award-winning campaign, developed in partnership with Travel Alliance Partnership, took place in January and brought five travel writers and content creators to Penn Yan for a curated tour of four historic bed and breakfasts.
During the visit, the creators met with innkeepers, explored each property’s unique character, and shared their winter getaway experiences through social media, photography, and written stories. The itinerary also included stops at Keuka Spring Vineyards, Once Finger Lakes, and Laurentide Beer Company.
The featured bed and breakfasts included Los Gatos Bed & Breakfast, Aubergine Bed & Breakfast, The Laurentide Inn, and Trimmer House Bed & Breakfast.
According to Yates County Tourism, the campaign generated more than 125,000 views across digital platforms while also securing future editorial coverage that will introduce the Finger Lakes destination to new audiences.
Officials said the campaign focused on authentic storytelling to highlight how local bed and breakfasts offer visitors personalized hospitality and memorable experiences beyond simply providing accommodations.
“Our ongoing programming with Travel Alliance Partnership has allowed us to get creative on how we promote Yates County as a top-of-mind, year-round destination,” said Chelsea Race, Yates County Tourism’s Director of Marketing. “Whether it’s pitching a press trip or idea, or managing our paid digital marketing campaigns, the team at TAP doesn’t just feel like a partner to us, but an extension of our small team.”
The annual Rochester Chapter PRism Awards recognize excellence in public relations and communications across a variety of industries. Yates County Tourism said the recognition reflects its continued commitment to developing creative marketing campaigns that promote local businesses, encourage tourism, and showcase the unique experiences available throughout the Finger Lakes Countrysides.
