Live music will once again fill the lawn of the Cayuga Museum of History and Art this summer as the museum’s Music at the Museum concert series returns with two performances in July.

The outdoor series will kick off on July 8 with Monster, an Auburn-based cover band known for performing classic and progressive rock favorites. The series concludes July 22 with Petty Thieves, a tribute band performing the music of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, The Traveling Wilburys, Mudcrutch and more.

Both concerts will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on the museum’s back lawn at 203 Genesee Street in Auburn.

Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs. Moonchot’s Authentic Thai Cuisine food truck will be on site, and a cash bar will be available. Organizers note that outside alcohol is prohibited under New York State liquor laws.

Admission is pay-what-you-wish, with proceeds benefiting the museum.

In the event of rain, concerts will move indoors to the Carriage House Theater. Parking is available in the museum lot on Orchard Avenue, at the Schweinfurth Art Center, and on nearby Genesee and Washington streets.

Music at the Museum is supported by Tompkins Community Bank, Boyle & Anderson, P.C., Pinnacle Investments and the New York State Council on the Arts.

Additional information is available through the Cayuga Museum.
