The Yates County Chamber of Commerce recognized several individuals and organizations for their contributions to the community during its 2026 Annual Dinner, held June 10 at Climbing Bines in Penn Yan.

Presented by Lyons National Bank, the annual event brought together chamber members, local business leaders, sponsors and community members for an evening of networking, dinner and an awards ceremony celebrating those who have made a positive impact throughout Yates County.

“Every year, this dinner reminds us just how much heart goes into building a stronger Yates County,” Chamber President and CEO Jessica Bacher said. “These award winners aren’t just doing good work. They’re doing it because they genuinely care about this place.”

Among those recognized was Friends of the Outlet, recipient of the 2026 Snow Memorial Spirit Award. Named in honor of former Chamber Director and Tourism Committee Chair Norman Snow, the award recognizes a business or organization that demonstrates exceptional volunteerism, leadership, collaboration and community engagement. The chamber cited Friends of the Outlet for its continued dedication to enhancing the community through its work with the Keuka Outlet Trail.

Dawn Shipman received the Seager Memorial Pride Award, named for former Chamber Executive Director Emily Seager. The award honors an individual whose positive attitude and encouragement have a lasting impact on others. Shipman was recognized for creating a welcoming and supportive environment in both her professional and personal life.

The Maxwell Memorial Award, also known as the Director of the Year Award, was presented to Kim Hughes. Named for longtime Chamber Director Robert Maxwell, the honor recognizes a chamber board member who demonstrates outstanding service through committee work, project leadership and community involvement. Hughes serves as the Chamber Board Treasurer and is Director of Finance for the New York Wine & Grape Foundation.

The annual awards celebrate the individuals and organizations whose leadership, volunteerism and dedication continue to strengthen communities throughout Yates County.
