A Himrod man is facing felony driving while intoxicated charges after a domestic incident in the Village of Dundee left a woman with serious injuries late Sunday night.

According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to Water Street at approximately 10:30 p.m. following a report that a woman had jumped from a moving vehicle that was reportedly going 30 m.p.h. at the time and was injured.

When deputies arrived, they found the woman in the roadway suffering from serious injuries.

Investigators determined that the woman and the vehicle’s driver, 38-year-old Michael Hill, had been involved in a verbal domestic dispute before the woman jumped from the moving vehicle.

During the investigation, deputies said Hill exhibited signs of impairment. After administering standardized field sobriety tests, deputies arrested Hill.

Hill was charged with felony common law driving while intoxicated and felony driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or greater.

The unidentified woman was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight for treatment of her injuries.
