Victor Farmington Ambulance is launching a new internship program this summer to introduce community members to emergency medical services and help them begin the path toward becoming certified Emergency Medical Technicians.
The EMS Agency Community Internship Program is part of a pilot initiative through the New York State Department of Health. The approximately 11-hour program is designed for individuals with no prior EMS experience who are interested in exploring emergency medical services as a career.
Participants who complete the internship will be eligible for New York State funding to enroll in an EMT certification course offered through a local EMS course sponsor.
The internship will be held over three evening sessions, and participants must attend all three. The sessions are scheduled for July 14, July 16, and July 20 from 6 to 9:30 p.m.
There is no cost to participate, but enrollment is limited.
Anyone interested in applying or learning more about the program can contact Victor Farmington Ambulance Director of Training Rob Merkel by email at [email protected].
