The former Town of Corning Supervisor has officially resigned after pleading guilty in connection with a benefits fraud case.

WENY TV reports Jenniffer Tuttle, formerly known as Jenniffer Mullen, entered a guilty plea this week in Steuben County Court to one count of offering a false instrument for filing. Court records show the plea came during a scheduled court appearance Tuesday afternoon.

Tuttle was arrested in June 2025 on charges of falsifying business records, offering a false instrument for filing and grand larceny.

According to investigators, she submitted falsified documents to the New York State Department of Labor and improperly collected more than $1,000 in unemployment benefits to which she was not entitled.

Following her guilty plea, the Town of Corning Town Board held an emergency meeting Tuesday to formally accept her resignation as town supervisor.

During the meeting, board members appointed Mike Brenning to serve as Interim Town Supervisor until a permanent replacement is selected.

Tuttle’s sentencing is expected at a later date.
