An Onondaga County community has been awarded millions from New York State for a water infrastructure project.
Governor Kathy Hochul announced on Thursday that $74 million has been awarded to communities across the state for water and sewer infrastructure improvement projects. Amongst the awardees is the Town of Skaneateles.
The town has been awarded $4.4 million in state grant funding to install 15,700 linear feet of drinking water main and appurtenances, along with the construction of a 150,000-gallon elevated storage tank and pump station.
Officials said the project will improve reliability for existing users and provide new users with a reliable source of municipal water.
