The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office is reminding county residents that they can help shape the future of the office by taking part in a community survey.

The 2026 Community Survey is designed to allow the community to weigh in on service delivery and community needs.

“Partnering with our community is key to successfully fulfilling our mission,” Schenck said in a statement. “Our success in providing the best public safety services possible is dependent on your trust, respect, partnership, and input,” Sheriff Brian Schenck said in April.

Additionally, the feedback will assist the office as it prepares for a leadership transition, as Sheriff Schenck will retire in 2027.
