State to Auction Former Auburn Group Home Next Month

A former state-owned group home in Auburn will be sold at public auction next month.

The New York State Office of General Services announced that bidding for the property at 57 Arterial West will take place at 11 a.m. July 22 at Memorial City Hall. Bidder check-in begins at 9:30 a.m.

The property includes a 3,244-square-foot, two-story home on a 0.46-acre lot. The building features five bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a kitchen, dining room, family room, laundry room, mudroom and basement. The property also includes a paved driveway and backyard.

According to OGS, the home was originally a single-family residence before being converted into a group home. The property is located in Auburn’s Neighborhood Commercial zoning district and is being sold as-is.

The minimum bid is $100,000. Cayuga County property records list the property’s assessed value at $271,700.

Prospective buyers will have several opportunities to tour the property by appointment before the auction. Site visits are scheduled for June 23 and 24 and July 1 and 2. Additional tours may be available upon request.

Anyone interested in bidding must complete a pre-registration form and submit it to OGS by noon on July 16. Bidders must also present a valid government-issued ID and a certified check or bank draft for $10,000 at registration on the day of the auction.

The property is located at 57 Arterial West, formerly known as 57 Franklin St.
