Firefighters from across the Southern Tier responded to a fire Tuesday afternoon at the Town of Catlin Highway Department garage in Chemung County.
At least eight fire departments, including Watkins Glen, Montour Falls and Beaver Dams, were called to the scene. Chemung County Executive Christopher Moss says he has spoken with the town supervisor and offered county assistance as officials assess the damage.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
