Person Hospitalized After Stabbing in Ithaca

One person was hospitalized after a stabbing Saturday evening in Ithaca, and police are searching for the suspect.

According to the Ithaca Police Department, officers responded around 7:10 p.m. to 1 Southwest Park Road, known as The Jungle, for a report of a stabbing.

When officers arrived, they found a victim suffering from stab wounds to the abdomen. Police provided first aid until the victim could be transported to a regional trauma center.

The victim was reported to be in stable condition.

Police said the suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. Investigators believe the suspect and victim knew each other and said the incident does not appear to be a random act of violence.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information is asked to contact the Ithaca Police Department.
