Starting Monday, the Interim tag will be removed from Adam Blowers’s job description with the city of Geneva. Blowers, who has served as Interim City Comptroller since September, has been officially appointed to the position. He previously served as City Comptroller from 2011 through 2022.
An interview panel comprised of City staff and community partners from the Local Development Corporation, Industrial Development Agency, and Business Improvement District conducted a formal interview with Blowers. City Manager Amie Hendrix said the panel was highly impressed by his extensive experience in public finance and administration, as well as his dedication to the City of Geneva. Hendrix said the panel unanimously recommended Blowers for the appointment.
In a statement, Hendrix wrote: “As Adam resumes his role as City Comptroller, he is committed to promoting transparency, efficiency, and accountability in all financial matters. He plans to enhance our existing processes and introduce strategies that will benefit both the city and its residents. Drawing on his past experiences and insights from previous roles, his leadership will be vital in navigating the financial challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for the City of Geneva. His vision aligns with our City’s goals to strengthen fiscal responsibility and foster sustainable growth. Adam’s collaborative approach will ensure that all stakeholders have a clear understanding of the financial future of our community.
“As we look forward to this new chapter, we are confident that Mr. Blowers will play a pivotal role in steering our city towards a prosperous and financially secure future. Please join us in welcoming Adam Blowers into the role of City Comptroller and supporting him in his efforts to make a positive impact on the City of Geneva.”
