The Ontario County Chamber of Commerce has named a new interim leader as it begins the search for its next President and CEO.

The Chamber’s Board of Directors has appointed Board Chair Krista Gleason as Interim President, effective August 1. She will serve in the role until a permanent President and CEO is selected.

Gleason, who has served as Board Chair for the past two years and is a longtime Chamber member and local business owner, said she looks forward to helping guide the organization through the leadership transition.

The appointment follows last week’s announcement that Tracey Dello Stritto will be stepping down on August 3rd to become President and CEO of the Finger Lakes Visitors Connection.

During Gleason’s tenure as Interim President, Vice Chair Nicole Mahoney will serve as Acting Chair of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. Mahoney will also lead the search committee responsible for finding the Chamber’s next chief executive.

The Chamber has officially launched its search for a new President and CEO and is accepting applications through its website. The organization said the position offers an opportunity to lead one of Ontario County’s most prominent business advocacy organizations.

According to the Chamber, the next President and CEO will oversee the organization’s strategic direction, expand value for members, and strengthen partnerships throughout the county while continuing initiatives such as Leadership Ontario and the Chamber’s business advocacy efforts.

Briggs said she is grateful for the Board’s confidence and encouraged members to remain engaged as the organization moves through the transition.

The Ontario County Chamber of Commerce represents businesses throughout the county and works to promote economic development, networking opportunities, and business advocacy.
