Two Clyde parents have been indicted after authorities accused them of abusing their 6-week-old twin babies earlier this year.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Camron Douglas and Brittany Spicer were each indicted on two counts of Assault in the First Degree, two counts of Reckless Assault of a Child, and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.  Douglas was also indicted on one count of Assault in the Second Degree.

Investigators said the case began on March 15 after the two infants were brought to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.

According to criminal complaints filed in the case, investigators believe the alleged abuse began on Feb. 16. Court documents allege both babies suffered brain bleeds and broken bones.

Additional details regarding the investigation have not been released.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
