DMV Relocating while Office Building Remains Closed

SHARE NOW

The Cayuga County DMV is temporarily relocating.

While the county office building is closed for repairs, the DMV will operate out of the Public Safety Building’s front conference room at 7445 County House Rd in Sennett.

The office is currently operating at a limited capacity. At this time, there will be no in-person testing, including driver’s and motorcycle licenses. The DMV is also unable to upgrade IDs to REAL IDs or enhanced licenses. The DMV is working to offer these services at the temporary location and will provide updates when they become available.

Beginning Friday, in-person transactions will be offered by appointment only. Appointments can be made at cayugacounty.us.

Transactions can also be mailed to:

Cayuga County Department of Motor Vehicles
160 Genesee Street
Auburn, NY 13021

Forms can be downloaded from the New York State DMV’s website.

Earlier this month, the county announced the office building would remain closed after heavy May rains and roof damage likely led to vermiculite, a mineral that could contain asbestos, being found on several windows. Repairs are expected to be completed at the end of August.

Last week, the legislature also announced it will hold its committee and regular meetings at the Ward O’Hara Agricultural Museum.
