“Disappointed,” that’s how Assemblyman Brian Manktelow says area lawmakers felt about the plan to build a Seneca Nation casino in the Rochester area.
We were very disappointed, myself and al the assembly members around the area,” Manktelow said on FLX Morning, “because we have del Lago, we have Finger Lakes Gaming we have Batavia. [a Rochester area casino would] affect those industries, those casinos as well.”
Lawmakers and local officials have been voicing their concern over reports of a “secret agreement” between the Senecas and the governor’s office to put a gaming facility in or near Rochester.
Manktelow adds that he believes the Assembly will be called back to Albany later this year to deal with Seneca Nation compact and casino issue.
