A 52-year-old Cazenovia man was found dead Monday at the Pompey Rod and Gun Club.

New York State Police responded to the club on Swift Road shortly before noon following a report of an unresponsive person. Investigators said another club member heard a single gunshot and went to investigate. The member found the man suffering from a gunshot wound and called 911.

The Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office responded and transported the man’s body for a post-mortem examination. His name has not been released.

State Police said the investigation remains ongoing, but there were no signs of foul play as of Monday.
