Two Injured in Second Auburn Shooting; Suspect Arrested

Just after midnight Sunday, Auburn Police responded to a second shooting while still working the fatal incident on Chapman Avenue.

Just before 1 a.m., officers were called to State and Perrine streets for reports of multiple gunshots. At least six rounds were fired, and two people were found injured. Both were taken to Upstate University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police arrested 35-year-old Leon Shorter of Syracuse in connection with the shooting. He’s charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
