On Tuesday, members of the Auburn Police Department arrested Luis Deleon, age 30, following a report of a physical domestic dispute at a residence on Hamilton Avenue.

Officers responded to the scene at approximately 5:22 p.m. and determined that Deleon had allegedly struck a female victim in the face with a wooden spoon, causing injury. The victim was holding their two-year-old child at the time of the strike. Investigators further alleged that when the victim attempted to leave the home out of fear for her safety, Deleon restrained her to prevent her from fleeing.

Deleon was charged with Assault in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, Menacing in the Second Degree, Unlawful Imprisonment in the Second Degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Following processing, Deleon was transported to the Cayuga County Jail to await centralized arraignment.

The charges are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. Police reports are automatically removed from this site after 90 days.
