It was an issue law enforcement had to deal with last Fall and it looks like it is happening again. The Yates County Sheriff’s Office says it has received multiple reports of road signs being stolen. The perpetrator or perpetrators might think it is a harmless prank, but Sheriff Ron Spike says the theft of road signs could lead to severe consequences for those responsible.
Sheriff Spike said the thefts alone, which have included street signs in the past, can result in possible jail time.
If you have any information on any of these thefts you can reach out to the sheriff’s office through Facebook and Twitter or by using the “submit a tip” function on the Sheriff’s Department’s app
