The Penn Yan Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps recognized its members and partners during its annual banquet held last weekend

This year’s event featured an 80s theme and brought together crews along with representatives from surrounding agencies to celebrate service and accomplishments over the past year.

Several members were honored with awards for their dedication and performance:

Volunteer of the Year: Loren Martin
Provider of the Year: Thomas Bartlett
Most Improved Providers: Emily Starkweather and Dave Phetteplace
Drivers of the Year: Mike Santee and Corey Slocum
CPR Saves: Matt Morse and Kelsey Connelly

An Appreciation Award was presented to Korinne Shortino in recognition of her years of service on the organization’s Board of Directors.

The corps also recognized milestone service anniversaries, including five years of service for Jonathan Granger, Laura Moore, and Kelsey Connelly, and 10 years of service for Corey Slocum.

Officials say the annual banquet serves as an opportunity to highlight the commitment of volunteers and strengthen connections with partner agencies across the region.
