As Auburn works to update its comprehensive plan for the first time in 15 years, it will hold its first public workshop later this month.
The city announced that a public workshop will be held from 6:00-8:00p on June 29 at Auburn Public Theater, 8 Exchange St. Officials said the meeting will begin with a short presentation covering the goals and purpose of the planning process. This will be followed by an open house, allowing visitors to provide feedback on plan elements.
Families are encouraged to attend, and there will be a children’s station. Light refreshments will also be provided.
Registration is encouraged but not required. Registration can be done here.
Anyone in need of assistive technologies, language translation, American Sign Language interpretation, and/or adaptive strategies is asked to contact Emma Falkenstein with Highland Planning at 585-504-1672 or [email protected] at least three business days before the meeting.
“The City of Auburn is excited to begin this important process to update Auburn’s Comprehensive Plan for the first time in over 15 years. Guided by Smart Growth principles, this community-driven effort will help us create a shared vision for Auburn’s future, one that strengthens our neighborhoods, supports economic opportunity, and enhances quality of life for all residents. I encourage everyone to participate, share their ideas, and help shape the next chapter of our city’s story,” stated Mayor James N. Giannettino, Jr.
The city’s Smart Growth Comprehensive Plan aims to guide land use, development, and community investments over the next decade. Funding comes from the New York State Department of State Smart Growth Community Planning Grant Program.
