Weedsport School Budget Hearing Set for Tuesday

The Weedsport Central School District will hold a budget hearing on the proposed 2026-27 school budget.

The hearing will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Jr/Sr High School. It is designed to give the community a chance to learn about the proposed budget and other propositions that will appear on the ballot.

The district has proposed a 3% budget increase totalling $24,931,514 with a 2.7% tax levy increase.

There will also be propositions on the ballot to authorize the purchase of two 65-passenger school buses, increase the Weedsport Free Library’s annual funding by $938 (a 1% increase), and withdraw up to $220,000 from the Technology Capital Reserve Fund for technology upgrades throughout the district.

Additionally, Wendy Bannister, Tanya Galka, and Nathan Walczyk will all appear on the Board of Education ballot.

The budget vote and board of education election will take place from 12:00-9:00 p.m. on May 19. More information on the budget can be found on the district’s website.
