Penn Yan Police continue to investigate a motor vehicle crash involving a Yates County Sheriff’s Office vehicle that occurred earlier this week.
According to an update released to Finger Lakes Daily News on Friday, the crash happened on Wednesday at the intersection of Liberty Street and North Avenue in the Village of Penn Yan.
Police said both the deputy sheriff operating the patrol vehicle and the driver of the other vehicle involved were transported to Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, where they were evaluated for minor injuries.
The investigation remains ongoing. Penn Yan Police said additional information will be released after investigators complete a review of the evidence and accident reconstruction findings.
