Ithaca Bicyclist Identified as Victim of Lansing Crash

State Police have identified the bicyclist seriously injured in a crash earlier this week in the Town of Lansing.

Police say 73-year-old John Silicano of Ithaca remains hospitalized at Upstate Medical University Hospital, where he is listed in critical but stable condition.

The crash occurred on Wednesday at approximately 3:02 p.m. on Brickyard Road near Ludlowville Road. Troopers were dispatched to the scene by the Tompkins County 911 Center. According to the preliminary investigation, a vehicle traveling on Brickyard Road struck a bicyclist who was also traveling on the roadway.

Silicano was airlifted from the scene to Upstate Medical University Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

State Police said the investigation remains ongoing and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
